Evacuations underway on B.C.'s West Coast Trail as rain makes Vancouver Island hike 'impassable'

The owner of a charter ferry service says he can't remember a storm this severe on the trail during the month of July, and that there's typically one rain storm in August.

Parks Canada says creeks and rivers are running high with more rain expected through Wednesday, and visitors are urged to delay or cancel planned trips.
